Launch of first UK Renal Research Strategy
Location: Welsh Assembly, Cardiff Bay
Peter Storey, head of communications at Kidney Research UK said:
"The event will feature our new report, ‘From a pioneering past to a positive future for kidney patients’. This sets out the significant milestones achieved in renal research and provides examples from across the UK of exciting and innovative research currently underway to improve outcomes for patients.
We will also be preparing a special briefing on our work in Wales, working with Professor Donald Fraser and colleagues in the Wales Kidney Research Unit. The report also provides recommendations to ensure continuing innovation and to lay the groundwork for the UK to become the global leader in renal research. These have been informed by the UK Renal Research Strategy (UKRRS), which was launched in April 2016.
We held a similar event at Westminster earlier this year and are very keen to engage with the new Assembly."
